ArtPower Discovery Fund
Energize the San Diego community through the Power of Performance Art. UC San Diego serves as an enclave for artists to reimagine and recreate — a place where a feast for the eyes and ears opens the hears and minds of audiences. Since 2002, ArtPower has enchanted students and the community with world-class music, dance and multi-disciplinary performances.
Through vibrant, cultural and immersive experiences, ArtPower seeks to develop more empathetic students and community members who are better prepared to engage in the world around them through their participation in high-energy artistic, educational and engagement programs that broaden thinking and awareness, deepen understanding and encourage new dialogues across UC San Diego and the community.
Studies confirm that exposure to the arts increases academic performance, improves critical thinking skills, boosts empathy, and makes people happier. These lifelong benefits are what we want to cultivate and why we offer free tickets to students.
Captivating moments presented onstage inspire lifelong patrons of the arts, and it is here, where imagination meets purpose, that ArtPower fulfills its mission.

Badminton Team
The UC San Diego Badminton team is a competitive and inclusive program that brings together badminton enthusiasts from all skill levels. Our team made history this year as we qualified for the 2025 YONEX UC National Collegiate Championships in Boston, MA! After an incredible season of thrilling league matches and intense tournaments across Southern California, we proudly secured 1st place in the West and earned one of only three spots from Southern California to compete at the national level. This is a monumental achievement for our team, and we’re thrilled to represent UCSD on such a prestigious stage.
With over 100 active members, we are a thriving community that fosters teamwork, sportsmanship and friendship. However, as a student-run and student-led program, we also face significant financial challenges when opportunities like this arise. With a large roster and the added pressure of end-of-quarter academics, funding our trip to nationals is a difficult task. With the support of YOU — our alumni, family, and friends, we know that we can make it happen.
Belonging Initiative Fund
At UC San Diego, belonging fuels success. Many students, especially those from first generation and low socioeconomic status backgrounds, face barriers to accessing professional networks and career opportunities.
The Belonging Initiative at the Rady School of Management ensures that every student — regardless of background — has the support, mentorship and opportunities needed to thrive.
With the launch of the B.S. in Business Economics in Fall 2021, students now have an interdisciplinary education that bridges business and market economics. But knowledge alone isn’t enough — mentorship and professional networks are critical to transforming classroom learning into career success.
Under the umbrella of the Belonging Initiative, the Business and Economics Mentoring Program (BEMP), helps bridge that gap by providing direct support and real-world insights that can make a significant difference in students' academic and career trajectories.
Your generosity today will directly support:
- Expanded mentorship opportunities so students can learn from industry leaders.
- Career-building workshops to help students gain job-ready skills.
- Networking events to connect students with potential employers and alumni.
- Financial assistance for professional certifications and internships.
When you make a gift to the Belonging Initiative, you’re not just supporting a program — you’re helping to build a more inclusive and equitable future in business and economics.
Join us to empower students, break down barriers, and create opportunities that last a lifetime. Every contribution makes a difference!

Through BUMMP, mentees are provided access to career planning assistance and the ability to network with people from a variety of scientific backgrounds.
“The Biology Undergraduate and Master’s Mentorship Program allowed me to feel like I had a part to play in science. Before BUMMP, I felt that my voice was not necessary and that my interests were too simple. I am proud of my work as well as my identities.” – Erik Weiboldt '25

Center for Epigenomics
As we know, the human genome contains three billion letters of G, A, T and C nucleotide bases. Annotating this genome involves mapping these regions and assigning meaning to them — pinpointing which areas regulate genes, control cellular behavior, or are linked to specific diseases. This is the essential next step in understanding some of the most devastating human diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.
The epigenome is the collection of all chemical modifications to DNA and chromosomal proteins in each and every cell during its lifespan. In the last two decades, researchers at the UC San Diego Center for Epigenomics have demonstrated that the epigenome provides the crucial information needed to infer the biological activities of the underlying DNA sequences.
By leveraging the rapid advancements of DNA sequencing instruments, we have built robust and cutting-edge technology platforms to map the epigenome in single cells, hundreds of thousands of cells in parallel, and at increasing resolution, scale and efficiency. With our high-throughput technologies, we have already produced single-cell epigenome maps for tens of millions of cells from vital organs across the human body and used the information to annotate more than 30 percent of the human genome.
Supporting the UC San Diego Center for Epigenomics helps accelerate conceptual breakthroughs that could lead to entirely new therapeutic approaches for diseases that have long remained mysterious and difficult to treat.
