ARTS AND HUMANITIES

Mandeville Art Gallery Support Fund

In the School of Arts and Humanities at UC San Diego, we take pride in helping our students develop transferable skills designed to meet rapidly changing professional environments. The Mandeville Art Gallery Support Fund supports priorities in the division that nurture experiential learning.

The Mandeville Art Gallery is distinct for its leadership in providing student experiential education. The Gallery’s Undergraduate Professional Development Program offers undergraduate students hands-on learning, mentorship and exceptional preparation for careers in art, in public and private institution alike, through paid part-time employment opportunities.

While students often gain working experience through a combination of campus arts venues, Mandeville Art Gallery offers structure and continuity, a forum for applying the lessons from various experiences into a coherent understanding of arts professions and opportunities.

With your support, the Mandeville Art Gallery can continue to offer opportunities for students like Stephania Torres-Londono ’24 to advance their careers in the arts. Stephania is a student in the Visual Arts Department and works as a Gallery Guide at the Mandeville Art Gallery. Gaining hands-on, paid experience in the arts has been incredibly valuable for Stephania as she works toward her future career goals. In fact, Stephania was just accepted to UC San Diego’s PhD program in art history!

Please consider making a gift to the Mandeville Art Gallery Support Fund today. Emerging arts professionals use these funds to pursue excellence in gaining firsthand insight into museum and curatorial practice, exhibition production, artist management, public engagement, and arts administration.
