CRAFT CENTER

At the UC San Diego Craft Center, inspiration and creativity converge. Our vibrant 11,000-square-foot space serves as a hub for students, staff, faculty and the wider community to explore, celebrate and collaborate on artistic journeys.

For Triton Giving Day 2024, the Craft Center invites you to participate in the Marko Wolfinger Surfboard Shaping Studio Inspiration Challenge. A global academic powerhouse and a hub for surf enthusiasts alike, our vibrant surf culture is evident in our championship surf team, student-run surf clubs and specialized courses through Scripps Institution of Oceanography and UC San Diego Recreation. We provide unparalleled opportunities for individuals to engage with our coastal environment, discover a new passion and cultivate a deep appreciation for the ocean.

The Marko Wolfinger Surfboard Shaping Studio a one-of-a-kind facility boasting five shaping bays, specialized tools and hands-on guidance from seasoned professionals. This extraordinary resource is available to students, staff and faculty as well as the greater San Diego community. Last year, the Wolfinger family established the Marko Wolfinger Surfboard Shaping Studio Inspiration Challenge to create a permanent endowment to maintain the studio.

Please make your gift today to participate in the Marko Wolfinger Surfboard Shaping Studio Inspiration Challenge. Your generosity enables students and community members to experience the joy of craftsmanship and the thrill of catching waves on a board they made with their own hands.

Thanks to donors like you, we can ensure the longevity of this invaluable creative resource and provide a bridge between UC San Diego and the broader regional surf community.
