ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS

Our student organization, Engineers Without Borders (EWB) at UC San Diego, is a passionate community of engineers, students and professionals committed to creating positive change through international humanitarian engineering projects. At EWB at UC San Diego, we believe in sustainable global development, and we work hard to ensure that our aid meshes seamlessly with local cultures and mindsets.

We work collaboratively with local communities to identify their needs and develop innovative, environmentally friendly solutions. Our projects are not just about building infrastructure; they're about fostering long-term relationships and empowering communities to become self-reliant.

Environmental sustainability is a key consideration in all our project decisions, as we focus on providing clean water, renewable energy and infrastructure improvements to underserved communities worldwide. Our projects range from digging a borehole as the foundation for hand-washing stations in Kenya, to locally researching the most efficient designs of a fog catcher that can convert the small aerial droplets in fog into fresh water.

As a preprofessional student organization, we foster the growth of our members by providing them with hands-on experience, professional development opportunities, and an international mindset that prepares them to become true global citizens after their time at UC San Diego.

Make your gift today to join us in our mission to engineer a better world, one project at a time. Together, we can build a future where everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive. For more information, please visit our website at ewb.ucsd.edu.
