HEAR PROGRAM
Help us reduce burnout and promote mental health among our health care workforce. Health care workers are at a high risk of burnout and this national crisis has only been exacerbated in recent years.
Our HEAR team creates a safe climate so that those who need help can reach out without danger to their job, license, or status as a student. TOGETHER WE CAN HELP OUR HEALERS.
Health care workers are human beings and need tools and resources to manage stress and reduce burnout. HEAR is there to help. We are here for professionals across UC San Diego Health. We care for the caregivers so they can continue to be the best providers for their patients.
Over 5,000 people have been screened with HEAR's anonymous survey, and ~1,700 people have been connected to counselors since the HEAR team was founded.
The counselors are dedicated to providing confidential mental health support for the UC San Diego Health workforce and health sciences students during personal, professional and emotional challenges. The health and well-being of health care workers cannot be ignored. Wellness promotion and optimizing mental wellness is imperative to working — and thriving — as frontline health care employees. There is no health without mental health. We need your support to continue offering these services to our community of trainees, nurse, staff and physicians.
HEAR helps save lives by providing resources and support to people when they need it most. Make your gift today to help sustain and advance HEAR’s ability to serve our entire community at UC San Diego Health through:
- Education to eradicate stigma against seeking mental health services
- Safe and confidential mental health screening
- Timely, caring referrals into care
