Muir College Innovation Fund
Our motto, "celebrating the independent spirit," is inspired by John Muir's life, travels and political activism to change the fabric of the nation.
Muir scholars embrace that charge wholeheartedly. For some, that means studying abroad or becoming an academic mentor. For others, it means designing a curriculum that supports their individual goals and interests.
Your generosity empowers these scholars to think differently. The John Muir College Innovation Fund supports co-curricular activities, like student organizations and the Muir Musical, that complement their coursework.
Make your gift today to revolutionize what possibility means for Muir scholars!
OASIS Summer Bridge Program
For almost 50 years, Summer Bridge has been a springboard for success for first-generation and/or low-income students. These students possess the talent and determination to excel; they apply to UC San Diego, gain admission and enroll in Summer Bridge precisely because they are committed to their success.
A year-long transition program, Summer Bridge begins with an intensive summer residential experience and extends throughout the academic year. Open to first-year UC San Diego students, the program equips participants with essential academic skills, connects them with campus resources and fosters a sense of belonging through peer mentorship and community support.
Your gift today ensures that these students start their college journey on solid footing — fully engaged, confident and free from additional financial burden. The result: Summer Bridge students thrive, becoming some of the most active and accomplished members of UC San Diego’s undergraduate community.
“When I attended Summer Bridge in 2019, it showed me how important community is and the impact it can have on someone’s sense of belonging. As a student, Summer Bridge made me feel recognized and celebrated my identities, which greatly helped my transition and stay at UC San Diego. I have been provided so many wonderful opportunities that have helped build my role as a student, leader and individual navigating higher education.”

We are an ever-growing family who all share a passion for the sport of swimming – and it doesn’t matter whether you swim in one of the faster lanes or the ‘not faster lanes,’ Sickie brought us together and keeps us together.
